Hi Tom…I think this is true for every accomplishment in our life…you could call it the “Hedonic Treadmill”…we think something will fulfill us for a lengthy amount of time, but then we realize that it doesn’t.

Every pleasure can only be felt for a small amount of time before we become desensitized to it and we need a “stronger hit”.

It’s why celebrities are so often depressed. They’ve reached “the top” and then what?

That’s where I recommend spirituality, a more in-depth look at human nature, and our existence, asking what it’s really all for anyway?
