Hi, Mireille thank you for sharing that. I think you are doing what is truly sane, natural, and healthy. It’s hard to listen to that motherly instinct within us, being surrounded by a culture that is so opposite, but keep doing it- your instinct is correct.

A child absolutely needs their mother until they are at least two, if not three years old. Separating from children at an early age is accompanied by so much pain and sadness, and yet we are told that this is “natural”, and that we need to “overcome” it as if it is some law…

Interestingly, nature itself is talking now, and for months children were home with their parents (some still are). Many, many mothers spoke of how that soothed their souls, to be able to be with their young children instead of sending them away.

And I am sure that this trend will continue. Nature is teaching us how to live a more balanced and connected life. The consumerist culture is unsustainable for so many reasons. We will go back to a more simple, natural, and healthy way of life sooner or later.

So you are in alignment with nature in your decision! Nature is on your side.
I wish you a positive and pleasant parenting journey and would love to help with anything if you need it.
